there's nothing quite like a perfectly decorated Christmas tree creating that festive

Christmas often commences with decorations being displayed all around us. Whether it's shop windows or in your own living room, Christmas just doesn't feel like Christmas without some decorations and of course the great Christmas tree. Throughout the festive period there are many houses that are covered in lights and decorations all the way from the Chimney tops down to the garden gates. Whilst these home covered in lights do seem to be the most festive, there's nothing quite like a perfectly decorated Christmas tree creating that festive, warm sensation. It can be argued to be quite easy to cover your home from head to toe in lights and decorations, but getting the perfect tree can be a difficult process. Too many decorations or too little decorations can be the difference between the perfect tree and a disaster tree. Please read on to find out the ways of decorating the ideal Christmas tree.

First of all, you will need to find out how much of the tree can be seen and from what angles can it be seen. This is crucial as we all know how easy it is to hang all the baubles from the front leaving bare sides and back to the tree. Once you know where you will need to decorate you can begin with deciding which decorations you wish to use. There are so many things out there you can use for your tree such as lights, baubles, tinsel, ribbon and of course the angel on top.

One simple, yet vital tip prior to adding a variety of decorations, is to place the tree on top of a piece of cardboard. This allows the tree to be moved around the house easier without any damage to the floor or objects. It also works as a protective layer to the floor from any fallen branches. Once the tree is in place it is time to prepare the tree itself for decoration. You should make sure all branches are extended out, pointing slightly upwards and spread equally across the trees whole size. Once this is done the decorations are ready to be placed on the tree. Most people would argue this to be the best and most enjoyable part!

Let's cover the types of lights that are available to use on all kinds of Christmas trees. The general rule that works for many is 100 lights per every foot of tree. Hence, a tree that is 7ft would look effective with 700 lights. This rule is effective as it creates just the right amount an ideal tree needs, not too many and not too few. Some artificial trees now come with built in fibre optic lights, which create a really pretty look and save the hassle of arranging the lights on the tree.

Now you have your lights sitting nicely on the tree, it is time to think about what kind of theme you want to go for with your other decorations. Creating a theme for your tree is a really good way to keep an orderly form to your decorations. Whether you choose an angel theme or a turquoise coloured theme, you will form a very attractive looking tree as it will look professional and tidy. If you choose to go along with a theme for your tree, try and think about different sizes of baubles, ribbons etc. Both large and small, sparkly and plain turquoise baubles will create a great look on the tree. If you have several heavy and large items you wish to hang from the tree, you will want to look at getting some floral wire. Floral wire permits you to attach heavy objects to the tree to stop them from falling off.

Now comes the time to look at applying tinsel and ribbon to the tree. It is crucial to ensure you put the ribbons deep into the tree as well as the edge of the branches, as this gives an effective look and more stability for the ribbon not to slide off. When applying the tinsel and ribbons, think about a "S" shape, curve it round this way in order to cover the majority of the tree area. Once this is done you can add your baubles in a similar way to the ribbon is applied and the last but certainly not least angel on top. After all this, you should have yourself one fantastic looking Christmas tree.
